Defining the reference range of the Plateau–patella angle in Taiwanese patients with osteoarthritis
Puntos clave
The aim is to define a specific reference range for the plateau-patella angle in Taiwanese patients with osteoarthritis.
Analyzed plateau-patella angle measurements in a Taiwanese cohort
Compared results with existing single normal ranges
Evaluated ethnic differences in angle measurements
Proposed reference range of 16°-24° for Taiwanese patients
Indicates that a single normal range may not apply across different ethnic groups
Highlights the need for tailored assessments in osteoarthritis
Resumen
The PPA should be interpreted carefully when using a single normal range to all ethnic populations. Our cohort suggests that a range of 16°-24° may be more appropriate for the Taiwan osteoarthritic patients.
