Buckling-restrained braces are organized in academic guidelines and widely used as seismic and vibration control members. However, there have been no reports on their use in shear walls for low-rise steel frame structure. In this report, we tested buckling-restrained braces with flat steel core plate slenderness ratio exceeding 1000, with the unbonded material applied to the restraining members as a parameter, and reported on the basic structural performance of these shear walls.
