We present a genome assembly from an individual Haliclona indistincta (sponge; Porifera; Demospongiae; Haplosclerida; Chalinidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 144.34 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.37%) is scaffolded into 10 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 24.89 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly by Ensembl identified 18 062 protein-coding genes. Two metagenome bins were also recovered from the sequence data.
