The 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes in Türkiye caused unprecedented destruction and psychological trauma across affected regions. In the aftermath of such disasters, coping strategies play a critical role in survivors' psychological adjustment, resilience, and long-term mental health outcomes. Understanding the range of coping mechanisms employed—whether adaptive or maladaptive—can inform both immediate psychosocial support and long-term mental health interventions. While various individual studies have examined coping in post-disaster contexts, there is a lack of consolidated evidence focusing specifically on the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes. This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to synthesize the available empirical literature on coping strategies employed by survivors of the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes. By identifying common coping patterns and evaluating their associations with psychological outcomes, the review seeks to contribute to evidence-based disaster mental health planning, policy, and clinical practice in Türkiye and similar settings.
