This poster uses the metaphor of a chemical catalyst to explain how research can drive transformation in policy and practice. The “catalyst” represents an enabling environment—built on trust, active listening, collaboration and empathy—that helps stakeholders temporarily come together, form new ideas and shift organisational culture. Reactants (people, systems and evidence) interact within their natural environment, forming intermediates that represent the key transitional steps needed for change. These lead to products such as stronger relationships, increased research capacity, cultural shifts and evidence‑informed decisions. Once change is achieved, the catalyst moves on to support new transformation processes, creating an ongoing cycle of learning and improvement
