In this paper we review some recent results about the total variation flow for functions into manifolds. After recalling some well-know results about existence, uniqueness and qualitative properties for the unconstrained case, the focus will be in obtaiming a good notion of solution to the flow. We will show how existence and sometimes uniqueness of solutions can be obtained in some different scenarios.
