The Positional Relationship Between the Inferior Right Hepatic and Posterior Portal Veins
Puntos clave
Most inferior right hepatic veins are classified as segments 6 or 7, providing critical classification details.
When the inferior right hepatic vein is not a reliable landmark, the right hepatic vein offers an alternative to locate the posterior portal vein.
This study examines the anatomical relationship and classification of hepatic and portal veins in liver surgery.
Identifying these landmarks contributes to safer and more effective surgical techniques during segmentectomy procedures.
Resumen
Most IRHVs were classified as S6/S7. When the IRHV does not serve as a landmark, the RHV may provide an alternative anatomical landmark for identifying P7 during anatomical S7 segmentectomy.
