The purpose of this study was to survey the methods of teaching evolution in Minnesota public and parochial high schools. No attempt has been made to compare these groups. There remain areas where the populace remains hostile to the teaching of evolution. In each of the three groups surveyed there were a significant number of teachers who do not present the theory of evolution in their classes.(Lutheran High Schools, Catholic High Schools, Public High Schools). The survey of public and parochial high schools of Minnesota did not show evolution to be a highly contested issue.
