It has become nearly feasible to numerically replicate the flow conditions within a mixing vessel. However, most analyses focus on directly obtained numerical values such as flow velocity and pressure distributions, with few instances of examining streak line patterns to assess mixing conditions. The authors developed a straightforward method to swiftly obtain the streak line pattern of a laminar flow mixing vessel using proprietary code and verified the transient analysis of the streak line pattern with commercially available fluid analysis software. Consequently, it was demonstrated that the characteristic streak line pattern of a large impeller, developed by a Japanese mixing company and applicable across a wide viscosity range, can be reproduced at various liquid heights.
