The paper provides an insight into the differences in coverage between a multi-database approach to study High-impact papers of Container Terminal Operations Research (CTOR) published in Science Citation Index/Social Science Citation Index journals. The correlation between multi-database citation counts is high, either to be used Pearson and Spearman coefficients. Further, the AW-index applications to characterize the concept of citation classics of the CTOR themes, providing an approach for a simple but very effective assessment indicator, are considered. This study compared the citation aspects and the utility of the main databases of CTOR.
