The synthesis of complex polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbonsthrough Scholl reaction, which enables oxidative aryl−aryl couplings, has witnessed remarkable success. A combination of the Scholl reaction with a cyclodehydrofluorination strategy via alumina‐assisted C—F bond activation is an attractive tool for the facile synthesis of large geodesic hydrocarbons bearing five‐membered rings. Herein, we demonstrate the high efficiency of the approach on the synthesis of the largest known fragment of C 70 fullerene possessing more than 74% of the C 70 surface.
