This article examines the innovative use of blockchain technology in land rights registration within Lagos slums in Nigeria. This study employs a conceptual analysis approach, drawing from existing literature on blockchain technology, property law, and urban development policies. The proposed theoretical framework underscores the potential benefits of integrating blockchain technology into urban development strategies, particularly in addressing issues related to property rights and tenure security in informal settlements. Authorities should consider pilot projects to validate the effectiveness of blockchain solutions before full-scale implementation. Additionally, there is a need for comprehensive legal frameworks that align with technological advancements.
