Abstract: It explores the women empowerment and its challenges by the fishery activities in Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal. It is focusing on socio-economic, political and psychological empowerment of women and challenges. Surveying 100 women, it highlights moderate level empowerment, with high psychological and social status, but low political empowerment. It enhance women’s income, confidence and resource access, though they have some challenges such as limited training, patriarchal barriers and lack of awareness, which indicates structural inequalities and call for policy interventions to enhance political inclusion and economic stability.
