Municipal water systems in Senegal are crucial for public health but face challenges related to infrastructure and maintenance. A systematic literature review was conducted using a comprehensive search strategy across databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Studies were screened for relevance to clinical outcomes measurement through municipal water systems in Senegal. Methodological rigor was assessed based on the use of panel data techniques such as fixed effects models. Panel data estimation revealed significant heterogeneity in treatment effects across different regions, with some areas showing no improvement despite investment, indicating the need for localized interventions and robust monitoring mechanisms. The review highlights the importance of consistent application of rigorous statistical methods like panel data analysis to accurately measure clinical outcomes and inform policy decisions. Policy makers should prioritise the integration of robust methodological frameworks in future evaluations of municipal water systems, particularly for ensuring equitable health impact across diverse regions.
