The implementation of process-control systems (PCS) in manufacturing industries is crucial for enhancing productivity and efficiency. A comprehensive evaluation will be conducted using a fixed effects regression model to analyse the impact of PCS on operational efficiency across various industries within South Africa. Panel data analysis reveals that the adoption of PCS has led to an average increase in productivity by 15% over three years, with significant variance observed among different sectors (manufacturing vs. mining). The study supports the efficacy of PCS in improving efficiency and recommends their broader implementation across South African industries. Adopting standardised monitoring practices to ensure consistent application and continuous improvement initiatives are recommended for further enhancing productivity.
