As AI answer engines increasingly replace traditional search systems, a new requirement is emerging: the need for a recognizable Unique Identifier for individuals, companies, and digital entities. In the past, online visibility depended mainly on websites and social media presence. Today, AI systems must identify, verify, and understand entities before referencing or recommending them. This paper introduces the concept of the Unique Identifier in AI ecosystems and explores why it is becoming essential for digital recognition, trust, and visibility. It also examines the risks of lacking a structured identity, the signals AI systems rely on, and how individuals and organizations can adapt to this transformation in information discovery.
