Double decker Pt 2 ( ii,ii ) complex exhibits bright green electroluminescence with EQE max of 22% and 22 000 cd m −2 luminance, while offering a versatile platform for structural tuning toward Pt 2 ( iii,iii ) derivatives as NIR emitters.
