The results of a U–Th–Pb (LA-ICP-MS) isotope age study of detrital zircon from sandstones of the Bol’shoi Inzer Formation of the Burzyan Group, which begins the Riphean stratotype section in the central part of the Bashkir Meganticlinorium (Southern Urals), are presented. It is established that the age range of detrital zircon from this straton corresponds to the interval of 3009 ± 18…1805 ± 30 Ma. In the probability density plot, the set of analyzed zircon crystals forms maxima with ages of 2720, 2700, 2540, 2070, 2030, 1945, 1910, and 1870 Ma. A comparison of the obtained data with the distribution of detrital zircon ages from sandstones of the Ai Formation (the base of the Riphean, Taratash Anticlinorium) suggests both common and distinct migration pathways for clastic material for both stratigraphic units. The relatively close minimum ages of detrital zircon from the Ai (1891 ± 23 Ma) and Bol’shoi Inzer (1805 ± 30 Ma) Formations, that determine similar maximum sedimentation ages according to the YSG algorithm, are a significant new argument in favor of approximate coevality of these lithostratigraphic units.
