We theoretically analyze forbidden in the Fermi liquid theory magnetization of a layered quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) conductor with open electron Fermi surfaces. We consider the most principle case, where the quasi-classical “sizes” of electron trajectories are less than the distances between conducting planes, i.e. under condition of the so-called quantum 3 D → 2 D dimensional crossover. We suggest to investigate experimentally the above mentioned phenomenon (which is due to the electron-electron interactions of low- dimensional electrons) in a metallic phase of the layered Q1D conductor (Per) 2 Au(mnt) 2 .
