This paper introduces the Delta S criterion, a diagnostic framework for identifying nuclear shell closures through the analysis of the differential energy surface. Using the AME2020 dataset, the model demonstrates a 94% success rate in identifying known exotic shells and provides a distinct stability signature for Z=120.
