Industry 4.0 guidelines are widely adopted in industrial sector value chains, facilitating production and supply chain processes while expanding the techno-economic aspects of manufacturing. However, this technological blast led to higher raw material extraction and, consequently, force the need for transforming mining processes based on Mine 4.0 principles. To address this issue, this paper by going a step forward introduces the Mine 5.0 principles to the mining sector. Thus, our research aims to present an adaptable design of an ore sorting system for mining operations following Mine 5.0 practices, in order to enhance the mining waste management by entering human-centric features, i.e. using Mixed Reality (MR) visualization, in aspect of controlling and monitoring.
