Heliospheric Geometry and Terrestrial Seismicity: Statistical Correlations Between Planetary Angular Configurations, Interplanetary Magnetic Field, and Earthquake Occurrence Modulated by Earth's Length-of-Day Dynamics

Resumen

Exploratory analysis of statistical associations between heliocentric planetary angular configurations, solar activity indices, interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) orientation, Earth's Length-of-Day (LOD) dynamics, and global seismic occurrence. Using a catalogue of 111, 674 independent mainshocks (M ≥ 4. 6, 1973–2025; Gardner-Knopoff declustering), 855 candidate angular configurations are evaluated across systematically varied solar and geophysical filter combinations. The analysis uses strict temporal train/test splitting (1973–2019 / 2020–2025), circular time-shift permutations, and FDR-BH correction. Fisher's combined test across ten robust candidates yields p = 4. 38 × 10⁻¹⁰ (turnday LOD state) and p = 2. 52 × 10⁻⁸ (towardᵦero state). Critically, the signal is absent under identical filters in the awayfromᵦero state (zero FDR-significant candidates), identifying LOD state as a genuine moderator. The most replicated configurations are Mars–Jupiter 0° (lift 7. 3–8. 2× in unseen test data under high solar activity) and Moon–Pluto 80° (four independent robust validations, lift 3. 9–4. 8×). All results are framed as exploratory correlational findings; no causal mechanism is established and no operational predictive claims are made. Independent pre-registered replication is required before any finding can be considered confirmed.
