In recent years, sites dating back around 10,000 years have attracted much attention. Jilin Province is preparing to conduct a special archaeological survey. In order to better carry out the work, this paper sorts out archaeological sites dating back around 10,000 years in northern China. From the perspective of site selection, these sites can be divided into four categories: the first one is located on the terraces on both banks of mountain rivers, the second one is located on both sides of plain rivers, the third one is located in hilly valleys, and the fourth one is located on the banks of plain lakes. By combining the cleared relics, a framework for the development and changes of human society around 10,000 years ago can be constructed. Humans first lived on both sides of rivers, especially in mountainous areas, and developed grinding techniques and invented pottery during the process of strengthening collection and production. Later, they migrated to resource rich hills and plain lake shores, and began to settle down. May form specialized burial areas, and a few people are buried in the relocation sites. The above framework can be used to identify key objects for archaeological investigations.
