Genioplasty is a highly effective tool for enhancing the appearance of the lower face and chin in general. In clinical cases where it is required, surgical advancement of the chin as a horizontal mandibular osteotomy has been practiced since its initial introduction. Although it promises excellent results, its justification may be challenging if general anesthesia is required due to the associated inconveniences, cost, and morbidity. This clinical report presents an interesting clinical case of the procedure performed under local anesthesia in an outpatient setting. Genioplasty under local anesthesia using dual-block approach can be classified as a fast-track surgical procedure, as it adheres to 2 fundamental principles: early ambulation and discharge after surgery.
