Lafcadio Hearn's ghost stories, "Mujina" and "Yuki-Onna" in Kwaidan: Stories and Studeis of Strange Things (1904) , are strongly connected to the author's Irishness. This article clarifies tight but delicate relathionships between the two stories and Ireland, paying peculiar attention to the two supernatural female figures appearing in the tales. The creatures are described as faceless and/or white.
