Electrochemical Modification of the Metal Mesh Surface for Heat Transfer Enhancement during Boiling of a thin Layer of HFE-7100

Modification of the heating surface using mesh coatings allows increasing the values of the heat transfer coefficient and critical heat flux during boiling of the dielectric liquid HFE-7100, which is widely used in two-phase cooling systems for micro- and power electronics. The paper presents experimental data on heat transfer during nucleate boiling in a thin horizontal layer with height 6 mm of the dielectric liquid HFE-7100 on a modified surface of a steel mesh 40 at different pressures. The mesh was modified using the dynamic matrix method of hydrogen bubbles under three different process conditions. It was found that modification of the steel mesh surface using this method under the optimal process condition leads to an increase in the heat transfer coefficient of up to 81% compared to the surface without mesh coatings.
