Chaitophorus spp. Koch, 1854 (Hemiptera: Aphididae) prefer to feed on certain types of plants, such as Populus L. (Malpighiales: Salicaceae) (poplar) or Salix L. (Malpighiales: Salicaceae) (willow). Approximately 90 species of the genus Chaitophorus have been identified worldwide, with 22 of these species being distributed in Türkiye. This study aims to determine the taxonomic status of members of the genus Chaitophorus by evaluating the morphometric characters and ratios of some characters of Chaitophorus members on the host plant Populus sp. Chaitophorus specimens, which were feeding on Populus sp., were sampled from across Adıyaman, Afyonkarahisar, Antalya, Çanakkale, Edirne, Erzurum, Istanbul, Karaman, Kırklareli, Kütahya, Malatya, Muğla, Tekirdağ and Uşak provinces between 2012 and 2024. Morphometric analyses were performed on twenty morphological characters and eight morphological character ratios belonging to 299 individuals. Consideration of both morphological characters and morphometric ratios shows a closer relationship between Chaitophorus indicus Ghoshet al., 1970, Chaitophorus leucomelas Koch, 1854 and Chaitophorus populialbae (Boyer de Fonscolombe, 1841), while Chaitophorus tremulae Koch, 1854, Chaitophorus populeti (Panzer, 1801) and Chaitophorus clarus Tseng & Tao, 1936 are seen to be different from the other species.
