The article examines the issues of ensuring the necessary resource of engine oil used in engines of transport and technological machines. Based on the analysis of the results of road tests, conclusions were drawn about the change in the parameters of the properties of engine oil during operation. It is established that it is necessary to take into account the operating conditions and loading modes of the engine for the performance of engine oil within the specified limits.
