The stability problem of discrete-time switched systems is investigated in this paper; both linear and nonlinear cases are considered. First, a weighted average persistent dwell time strategy is proposed on the basis of mode-dependent average persistent dwell time, which relaxes the constraints on dwell time and reduces the conservativeness of stability results for the studied switched systems. Then, by means of a novel Lyapunov function method, new stability criteria of discrete-time switched systems are obtained. Finally, a numerical example is studied to illustrate the validity and feasibility of the proposed method.
