This innovation describes the development of two virtual simulation objective structured clinical examinations (VS-OSCEs) designed to assess wound care competence using the Canadian Alliance of Nurse Educators using Simulation virtual simulation game design process. Each 20-item, video-based assessment features new clinical cases, automated scoring, and authentic wound care decision-making.Usability testing with students and instructors indicated the VS-OSCEs were accessible, efficient, and realistic, though the term "objective structured clinical examination" elicited anxiety, suggesting alternative framing as "quizzes".This work demonstrates a scalable, standardized, and psychologically safe approach to assessing wound care knowledge and clinical reasoning within virtual learning environments.
