Long-Term Effect of Shock Wave Therapy on Upper Limb Hypertonia in Patients Affected by Stroke

ESWT reduces hypertonia of the wrist and finger muscles for > or =12 weeks after treatment. The possible mechanisms of action of ESWT are discussed.
