Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent malignancies among women worldwide, highlighting the need for innovative, effective, and less toxic therapeutic strategies. Conventional treatments are often associated with systemic toxicity, drug resistance, and high costs, prompting exploration of alternative approaches. This research focuses on the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using the medicinal plant Bryophyllum pinnata, known for its rich phytochemical profile and anticancer properties. Plant bioactive compounds act as natural reducing and stabilizing agents to produce biocompatible AgNPs. The synthesized nanoparticles were comprehensively characterized for their physicochemical properties and evaluated in vitro against human breast cancer cell lines. Mechanistic studies revealed apoptosis induction through ROS generation and DNA damage. This eco-friendly approach aligns with green chemistry principles and demonstrates promising potential for plant-mediated AgNPs in breast cancer nanomedicine.
