As a result of rapid changes in the digital age, many new prospects emerged in human resource management practices. For example, social networking sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter have become useful tools for talent acquisition that help recruit candidates with various profiles. This research will focus on the impact of social media on recruitment by analysing several factors such as time to hire, cost per hire, quality of hire, and employer branding. Despite the benefits of using social media in recruiting (e.g., extended reach and increased exposure), some difficulties are associated with the application of social media recruitment. From RBV and Signalling Theory perspectives, this paper will examine the influence of social media recruitment compared to traditional recruiting.
