This interview is part of the “Caste in Canada” oral history project. “Caste in Canada” comprises interviews with nineteen Canadians of Dalit background, documenting their histories, experiences, and understanding of the implications of caste in Canada. The subject of this interview, Mohinder Ralh, was born and raised in a small village in Punjab, India. In 1993, he moved to Canada, where he earned a Bachelor of Accounting degree and a Chartered Professional Accountants designation. He currently works as an audit manager. This interview is divided into two segments and includes one promotional video. In the interview, Mohinder Ralh compares casteism in India and Canada. He speaks about religion and marriage vis-a-vis caste system and elaborates on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s contributions to society.
