IC MAGE M20 is a user-defined model for PLAXIS, developed using the IC MAGE UMIP framework. The model builds upon the SANICLAY model with bounding surface formulation proposed by Seidalinov and Taiebat (2014) featuring both isotropic and kinematic hardening of the bounding surface, which retains the same elliptical shape as the Modified Cam-Clay yield surface, and adopts a projection centre updating at stress reversal. To enhance the simulation of clay response under cyclic loading, the model implements: i) a modified evolution of the hardening modulus, ii) a novel damage mechanism driven by cumulative dissipated energy, and iii) a formulation for describing stiffness at small strains.
