In the extent of this work several novel crystal structures of compounds containing pentavalent arsenate frameworks have been investigated. Synthetical routes have been adopted from the extensive research on chemically related phosphates. Structural data was gathered using x-ray diffraction of powders and single crystals. Special interest was given to the unveiling of rubidium and cesium metaarsenate RbAsO3 and CsAsO3, since the synthesis allowed for a temperature dependent structure analysis. Complementary thermal analysis such as thermogravimetry and calorimetry allowed for insights in transition mechanisms.
