Hodgkin lymphoma is a well-described cause of HPS. HPS complicating HL is characterised by male predominance, a strong association with EBV, poor survival and high frequency of lymphocyte depletion and mixed cellularity subtypes, similar to that found in immunodeficient patients with HL. In HL, bone marrow infiltration is quite often detected by bone marrow biopsy but its detection in bone marrow films is uncommon. Our patient is remarkable for the obvious infiltration with many Reed‒Sternberg and mononuclear Hodgkin cells seen in bone marrow films.
