Comparative Effect of Percutaneous Nephrostomy Versus Double J Ureteral Stenting on Split glomerular filtration rate in Obstructive Uropathy caused by Ipsilateral Urolithiasis
Puntos clave
This study aims to compare the effects of percutaneous nephrostomy and double J ureteral stenting on split glomerular filtration rate in patients with obstructive uropathy caused by urolithiasis.
Conducted a randomized trial involving patients with obstructive uropathy due to urolithiasis
Compared percutaneous nephrostomy and double J ureteral stenting
Measured split glomerular filtration rate before and after treatment
Percutaneous nephrostomy showed a significant improvement in split glomerular filtration rate compared to double J ureteral stenting.
The effect size was measured to be higher in the nephrostomy group with a 95% CI indicating strong efficacy.
P-values indicated statistical significance in favor of percutaneous nephrostomy treatment.
