Optical-resolution functional gastrointestinal photoacoustic endoscopy based on optical heterodyne detection of ultrasound

The endoscope is used to in vivo image a rat rectum and visualize the oxygen saturation changes during acute inflammation, which can hardly be observed with other imaging modalities.
