Key Points

  • The study aims to determine the effects of nursing work environment and job stress on organizational commitment among nurses in integrated nursing care service wards.
  • Structured questionnaires were used to collect data from 130 nurses working in integrated nursing care service wards at hospitals with over 200 beds in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon.
  • Data was analyzed using SPSS 22.0 for descriptive statistics, correlation, and hierarchical multiple regression.
  • Nursing work environment showed a significant positive correlation with organizational commitment (r=.677, p <.01) and a negative correlation with job stress (r=-.678, p <.01).
  • Job stress revealed a negative correlation with organizational commitment (r=-.761, p <.001).
  • Hierarchical regression analysis indicated that a positive nursing work environment (β =.290, p <.001) and high job stress (β=-.495, p <.001) significantly affect organizational commitment, with an explanatory power of 65.5% (adj. R²=.655).
