The evaluation comprised the machine excavation of twelve trenches 1.9m wide, totalling 190m in length, positioned to provide representative coverage across the site. No archaeological features or deposits were exposed, and no finds were recovered, during the evaluation. It is concluded that the extant field pattern dates from at least the medieval period and potentially has prehistoric origins, without any further additional subdivision (into smaller fields) than is recorded on the tithe map, and without any currently unknown associated settlement activity. The archaeological potential is considered to be very low, and the development is unlikely to impact on any significant deposits or features of archaeological interest.
