Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken by AC archaeology in July 2025 during of groundworks associated with an extension to 176 Castle Rings, Christchurch Road, West Parley, Dorset. The site is located within the circuit of an Iron Age hillfort, named Dudsbury Camp. The new extension groundworks were located of the north side of the existing property on what was a terrace and lawn area. Monitored groundworks comprised the excavation of footings trenches. The monitored groundworks did not expose any evidence for pre-modern activity. Excavated trenches exposed the natural subsoil overlain by a former garden soil that was then sealed by a patio surface. No finds were recovered.
