The archaeological works were conducted as a condition of construction of a garage and extensions to the existing building. The programme of works was undertaken in accordance with a Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI), which was approved by Durham County Council. The archaeological work was undertaken over six days between 20 February and 27 February 2024. All groundworks, comprising levelling of areas and excavation of foundation trenches, were monitored. No archaeological features or deposits were recorded. No archaeological deposits or features were found. A modern domestic dog burial was encountered (not retained).
