Preisach modeling, which has been used to describe hysteresis in magnetic devices, especially those used in magnetic recording, is unable to describe some phenomena. When these phenomena are not germane to the magnetizing process, the accuracy of the model can be very high. This paper concentrates on one phenomenon which cannot be described by the Preisach model, namely the noncongruency of observed stable remanence loops cycling between two fixed values of applied fields.
