This paper presents the main methodological strategies and the results of the project "Soundscapes of Taygetos", that is taking place from 2022 to villages of northwest Taygetos from Taygetos Mountain Academy and Educational Directorate of Peloponnese. Aims of the program are to support mountain research and studies, teacher training, and educational programs for students that come from Greek or other European Schools. Methodology of the program has been separated to two parts: At the first one, training and education material was developed with research activities at the mountain, and also action research applied to all teaching and training actions. At the second one these materials have been tested in real activities with visiting groups at the mountain. Beyond these results, however, the research demonstrated the way in which the effects of climate collapse on the mountain reverberate in its soundscapes. Water and its presence in the mountain sounds to be the main echogenerating and sound-making source. And what the evolution of soundscapes indicates is that Taygetos suffers from the effects of the climate collapse, that is “sounds”, so that we can shape the "soundscape collapse". The main theoretical tools on which the formulation of the material was based, i.e., “sound literacy” and “ecological literacy”, were complemented by an appropriate 'politics of literacies', which oriented the program towards a contribution to the understanding and prevention of climate.
