Egypt Vision 2030 and COP 27 aim at combating the negative impact ofthe climate change by promoting sustainable development. Constructionincreases pollutants and the university sector faces many challenges related toachieving sustainable development.The research aims to propose indicators to a reference framework, to evaluate thesustainable university campus in Egypt. in accordance with Egypt vision 2030and (COP27) to be suitable to the reality of urbanization.There are three parts to assess the extent to which Egyptian universitiesincorporate sustainability principles. The first part starts with studying thedeterminants and criteria for designing the university campus in Egypt. It includesthe environmental determinants and the criteria for green rating system. Thesecond part is related to exploring the university campus according to thesustainable perspective and its evaluation systems. The research ends with anapplied analytical study of models from Egyptian universities: a comparativeanalysis between the American University in Cairo and Beni Suef NationalUniversity according to the elements of the reference framework proposed; Thestudy concluded that the A.U.C achieves70% ,followed by B.S.N.U 50% Despite of the state's intentions, this confirms the lack of interest in applying sustainabilityprinciples in the Egyptian universities.
