A recently developed method is described for the reductive analysis of confusion matrices by means of a high-speed digital computer. Illustrative applications of this method to several previously published matrices of the confusions between signals of the Morse code are presented for the first time. The results seem to provide useful information about how these dot-and-dash patterns are processed in man.
