Summary Fifteen patients with monosymptomatic hypochondriacal psychosis manifesting as delusions of infestation have been treated by depot injections of neuroleptic drugs (fluphenazine decanoate or cisflupentixole decanoate). Several of the patients had formerly been treated with neuroleptics by mouth with little or no effect. During the injection treatment eleven patients became totally symptom free, three patients improved and one was unaffected. No serious side-effects were observed.
