This research focuses on the integration of advanced technology to improve the design efficiency of apparel retail space designs in the wake of the growing impact of online shopping. The aim is to identify the impact these advanced technologies make to the design efficiency of a physical retail space when integrated with new designs in the retail sector. A quantitative research design was used to collect data from a sample population of 291 professionals in the sector using questionnaires. Results were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software to test the proposed hypotheses. Major findings suggest that advanced technology and new designs centered on customer experience and interaction improve the design efficiency of retail spaces to a superior level. Addition to the body of knowledge: This research offers a design framework for incorporating technology into design for improving the design efficiency of physical retail spaces in a dynamic retail sector.
