A silent conspiracy: coping with dying cancer patients on an acute surgical ward

The problems and strategies of coping with terminal cancer patients on an acute surgical ward form the focus of this paper. The effects of ward structure, organization, and communication are examined and particular attention is given to the problems of junior nurses who are primarily responsible for the care of these dying patients.
